Free QBO to IIF Converter
— Fix QuickBooks Import Errors Instantly

If QuickBooks Desktop 2020, 2021, or 2022 is showing an OL-222 error or saying “Web Connect import no longer supported,” you are not alone. Intuit quietly discontinued bank feed imports for these versions as part of their sunset policy — but your bank’s .qbo or .ofx file is still valid. QBOConverter converts it to .iif, a format every version of QB Desktop can still import natively. No QuickBooks Online subscription required.

Convert .qbo, .ofx, and .qif files to .iif format — works with any QB Desktop version.

How it works

Three steps to get your bank transactions back into QuickBooks Desktop.

1

Download from your bank

Download your .qbo or .ofx file from your bank's website as usual.

2

Drop it into QBOConverter

Drag and drop your file — it's converted instantly on our server and never stored.

3

Import into QuickBooks

Open QB Desktop → File → Utilities → Import → IIF Files. Done.

Errors this tool fixes

If you're seeing any of these, your QuickBooks Desktop version has lost Web Connect support. QBOConverter gets you back up and running.

OL-222

Unable to verify Financial Institution information

Error

Web Connect import no longer supported

Error

QuickBooks is unable to verify the Financial Institution

2020

QuickBooks Desktop 2020 discontinued — bank imports disabled

2021

QuickBooks Desktop 2021 discontinued — bank imports disabled

2022

QuickBooks Desktop 2022 discontinued — bank imports disabled

Why is this happening?

Intuit discontinued Web Connect imports for QuickBooks Desktop 2020, 2021, and 2022 after May 2023/2024/2025 respectively. Banks that previously supported .qbo direct import have shut down their connections.

Your bank still lets you download .qbo or .ofx files — but QuickBooks Desktop can no longer import them directly. QBOConverter bridges the gap by converting to .iif, a format QB Desktop still fully supports.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spent two days trying to figure out why QuickBooks suddenly stopped accepting my bank files. Found this tool, uploaded my .qbo, and had it working in 60 seconds. Wish I’d found it sooner.

Our accountant told us to just upgrade to QB Online. We didn’t want to pay another subscription. QBOConverter let us keep using Desktop without any issues.
